A small model will run locally for categorization, questions, and document reading. Cloud AI assistants are a separate, optional choice.

Wired into a real double-entry ledger: it won’t be able to post an unbalanced entry or write into a closed period.

Even local, it will stay on a leash
When it ships, the on-device model will write through the same guarded gateway as everything else, so every change it makes is attributed, reversible, and yours to approve.
- It can’t unbalance your books. Every posted entry must balance — the gateway rejects anything that doesn’t.
- It can’t touch a closed period. Writes dated inside a locked period are refused, not negotiated.
- Every change is attributed and can be undone. AI writes are grouped per session for one-click undo, and the hash-chained audit trail records who, what, and when.
- Reach is capped by tier. A credential can read, or make reversible edits; high-stakes actions wait for your approval.
- Unattended runs can wait for review. Route an agent’s work to a review queue so a person signs off before it posts.
- Nothing is sent on your behalf. It can propose reconciliations and draft reminders; completing a reconciliation or sending anything stays a human act.
